MYSORE PALACE, AN MUST VISIT PLACE IN MYSORE, KARNATAKA
Famously known as the Mysore Palace ,
almost everyone knows the speciality of this place in the world, this is the most visited palace

Palace :  This Palace was constructed by King Nalwadi Krishna Raja Wodeyar, construction period is from 1897 to  1912.Chief architect was  Henry Irwin, inside architecture was done by  Raghaveru Naidu.
total boundary is 72 acers, Palace is built in 4 acers, even now the royal family stay at the rear side of the Palace, that is the residential part of the palace. there you can notice the small pancha(5)  kalasha that is full of kalasha, five kalasha. around the palace there are five gates. that is the main gate Jayamarthanda Gate for tourist. south enterance gate is there known as Varaha gate, also north gate. behin the palace there are two other gates one is facing the corporation office, known as Karikalludoddi

Entry/Timing Details : here entrance fee is for adults it is 70 Rupees, for kids aged 10 to 18 yrs its 30 Rupees per head, and for study tour. for one student it is merely Rupees 10 per student.
timing is from morning 10 am  to evening 5 pm, evening 7pm to 9 pm light and sound show or illumination will be there. Palace is open on all 7 days . 
only on Dasara Day the Palace is closed for public. 
entry for public to this Palace is only through two entrances.
every general holidays and during Navarathri there is one hour illumination , 
only from South and North gate, main gate is generally kept closed, there are problems at the main gate, that is some miscreants, who are not guides, claim that the Palace is closed.

inside wearing of footwear is not permitted, footwear needs to be kept in the chappal stand.
the old palace in 1897 during the wedding gets burnt, only 40 percent gets burnt , 60 percent of it is demolished. new palace is constructed from 1897 to 1912.

for Dasara the same idol is used for procession
so all year round the goddess statue will be kept here? Yes

Maharajas were the subordinates to the Britishers
this area is known as Gombe thotti
even from the initial days it has been known as Gombe thotti
means this has not been displayed here recently
but since ancient times it was the dolls gallary
during Navarathri even now pooje is conducted here
